Working with the Winkler Group, Charleston Southern University raised more money in the first nine months of its Limitless campaign than at any other time in the university’s history. The university also received the largest single gift in its history—a gift to name the CSU business school.
The Winkler Group led Charleston Southern University to develop advancement practices that revolutionized the university’s approach to fundraising. A tradition of under-asking or blanket-asking of key donors was replaced with a culture of philanthropy based on personal relationships. Now, donors are properly stewarded and engaged in the life of CSU. Donors are encouraged to stretch in their giving. Strategic partnerships and tailored asks build momentum among donors and result in additional gifts.
