Winkler Group and SUNY Adirondack Win CASE Circle of Excellence Award

Winkler Group client SUNY Adirondack edged out the Indiana University and Iowa State University to receive top CASE Circle of Excellence honors in the Case Statements & General Cultivation Publications category.  Winkler Group Vice President for Communications Jessica Browning wrote the case to support SUNY Adirondack’s capital campaign.

“This award reflects the Winkler Group’s unending commitment to our clients.  Our team is filled with some of the fundraising profession best and brightest, but what really sets them apart is their devotion to helping our partners advance their missions.  This CASE award is proof of what we can accomplish together,” remarks Tim Winkler, founder and CEO of the Winkler Group.

A CASE Circle of Excellence award represents the highest level of accomplishment in academic fundraising.  This year, the program received 3,364 entries from around the world.

Sue Cunningham, president and CEO of CASE, says 2017 was the most competitive year ever for the awards program that recognizes outstanding achievement in educational advancement. “These awards acknowledge superior accomplishments that have lasting impact, demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and deliver exceptional results.”

The 32-page case for support encouraged community members to support the College’s Reaching New Heights capital campaign.  Launched in 2015, the Winkler Group-managed campaign surpassed its goal earlier this year.  Funds raised will build new STEM facilities and strengthen workforce development initiatives.

Amy Stevens, graphic designer for SUNY, designed the piece around a U.S. Geological Survey Benchmark—a directional icon and campaign metaphor. Lush photography evoked pride in the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains, while positioning the College as the catalyst for the region’s economic growth.  Rachael Patten, Executive Director of Development, Alumni Relations and the SUNY Adirondack Foundation, oversaw the project.  The winning case statement is available here, along with other Winkler Group-produced cases for support.
