The annual event draws hundreds of nonprofit leaders from across the state to learn best practices from each other and from industry leaders. This year marks the eighth time the Winkler Group has sponsored Planet Philanthropy.
Pre-Conference Capital Campaign Course
COVID didn’t erase the need for a campaign. In many cases, it only made it stronger. The good news is that donors are actively giving transformational gifts to causes they care about.
We’re proud to announce our Capital Campaign Course, scheduled for June 5 – 6, at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando. This intensive workshop offered by AFP Florida and the Winkler Group will guide you through the phases of a capital campaign—starting with what you can do today to ensure the success of your future campaign. We will everything you need to know about preparing for and launching a campaign in a post-pandemic world.
The workshop will be taught by Jim Bush, Winkler Group Principal and President. He injects humor and real-life scenarios into the workshop, so participants leave with an in-depth understanding of how to hit—and exceed—a campaign goal.
Conference Sessions
Winkler Group Principal Jim Bush and Director of Client Services Nikki Rach will be featured presenters at the conference. Jim and Nikki will lead their interactive workshop, “Four Predictors of Capital Campaign Success in 2021,” on June 7. Jim will also lead the session “Planning for the Big Vision: A Strategic Plan with Impact.”
Mr. Bush has been named best speaker at numerous national and international conferences. Ms. Rach has been invited to serve on the faculty of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.

About Our Presenters
Jim Bush, principal and president of the Winkler Group, has devoted his 30-year career to fundraising. Jim is a seasoned fundraising professional and nonprofit senior leader who has raised over $150 million throughout his career. A well-known speaker, Jim has presented at more than fifty national and international fundraising conferences; he has been named the top speaker at six international conferences. His articles on fundraising have been published in leading nonprofit journals. Jim is a member of the Giving USA Editorial Review Board and is a voting member of the Giving USA board. He holds a B.A. degree from Elon University.
Nikki Rach, director of client services, heads the Winkler Group’s Central Florida office. With more than 25 years of experience as a successful fundraiser and nonprofit executive, she is recognized for her expertise in campaign management and strategic implementation of volunteer leadership. Widely regarded as a thought leader in the field of professional fundraising, Nikki has recently been invited to serve on the faculty of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. A graduate of Concordia University, Nikki is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and an active community volunteer.
