Charleston—As the Winkler Group celebrates its 15th anniversary, the firm announces the addition of Senior Consultant Courtney Brady, Senior Consultant Bob Dodson, and Consultant Adam Burak.  With 14 fulltime team members, the Winkler Group has over 250 years of combined fundraising experience and has raised collectively more than $1.5 billion for our clients.

As Brady, Dodson, and Burak are added to the firm’s Client Services team, the Winkler Group has promoted existing team members.  Nikki Rach has been promoted to Director of Client Services and Raymond Carnley has been promoted to Senior Managing Consultant.  “We are positioning our entire team to best serve clients in 2020 and beyond,” says Winker Group President Jim Bush.  “Courtney, Adam, and Bob each bring unique talents to our team which will enable us to continue delivering the excellent service our clients have come to expect.”

Courtney Brady, Senior Consultant
Courtney Brady is an accomplished fundraising professional who brings a vast portfolio of experience to Winkler Group clients.  She has successfully led development initiatives for universities, independent schools, health care institutions, and community-based organizations.

As director of the Duke University School of Law’s reunion fundraising program, Ms. Brady raised $3.5 million in gifts and pledges in two years.  As a major gift officer, she secured six-and seven-figure gifts and pledges as part of a $350 million University-wide scholarship initiative.  

In addition to her major gift expertise, Ms. Brady has a sharp talent and a proven record for strategic planning.  Most recently, she transformed a community-based nonprofit organization by reorganizing the executive leadership team, overhauling the development operation, and fine-tuning the mission and vision.  As a result, the organization’s revenue doubled in a four-year period and its impact on the community vastly increased.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and the Lawrenceville School, Ms. Brady is a member of the AFP Lowcountry Chapter and former Chair of the Camp Happy Days Board of Directors.

Bob Dodson, Senior Consultant
Robert Dodson brings 30 years of philanthropic experience to Winkler Group clients. Experienced in all aspects of fundraising, he has directed over 40 successful campaigns throughout his career serving nonprofit organizations, raising more than $550 million collectively.

Mr. Dodson’s fundraising philosophy centers around helping donors accomplish their philanthropic objectives; his satisfaction comes from building and stewarding interpersonal relationships with clients, volunteers, and donors. 

As a member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, Mr. Dodson has built numerous successful planned giving programs and raised more than $100 million in expected bequests.  He is experienced in strategies of immediate and deferred gifts of appreciated non-cash assets, as well as split-interest life income gifts and charitable legacy gifts.

Mr. Dodson received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. He holds the credentials of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy and Certified Fund Raising Executive.  A Washington D.C. native, Bob works from the Winkler Group’s South Florida office. 

Adam Burak, Consultant
Adam Burak has hands-on experience working with nonprofits both directly and indirectly. Mr. Burak completed a year of service with Literacy AmeriCorps in South Florida where he mentored at-risk high school students to help create sustainable paths forward for postgraduation. Mr. Burak most recently served in a business development role at Turning Leaf where he created relationships with employers to place formerly incarcerated in sustainable employment throughout the Charleston area region.

Mr. Burak brings an array of applicable skills to the Winkler Group team and our clients, including experience in project management, nonprofit experience on multiple levels, and sales experience.  Mr. Burak graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from University of Delaware and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree from the College of Charleston.
